LEADER has now awarded £500,000 to more than twenty projects in Northern Lincolnshire. Below are just a selection of some of the projects that have benefited from LEADER funding in the Northern Lincolnshire area to date: -

Winterton Community Hub (Old School Hall)

winterton community hub 19 march 2010 - website picThe Old School Hall building in Winterton is a venue that a local group have worked hard to improve for the local community. However it was not suitable to deliver some of the services that were required by local residents. To address this problem the committee applied to LEADER to help renovate the building and provide an outdoor play space for the local out-of-school club. Work will mean the building becomes a hub for the local community and will include everything from pre school activities through to sessions for older people.

The group applied to LEADER to help support them provide a new kitchen and refurbish the interior of the building. A grant of £7,800 was awarded to help them carry out this work. The refurbishment was completed in October 2009. The expectation from the parish council is that the improved facilities will encourage a greater sense of community by helping more people and groups access the building for new activities.
